1-1-13 2012 NorcalKarters.com Jr & Sr Driver of The Year

In 2012 NorcalKarters.com brought back the Jr and Sr driver of the year award to give appreciation to drivers outstanding both on and off the track. To Qualify for the Jr category a driver must compete in and Jr division 15 and under through the calendar racing season. For the Sr Category would be any driver qualifying in the Sr category including Masters.

In 2012 Sonny Cervelli was awarded the NorcalKarters.com Jr Driver of the year for his outstanding performance on the track and his professional behavior off the track. This Year Sonny Raced in the HPV-2 Division in WKA West and attended other national races on the West Coast. In the WKA West Series Sonny won all 6 of his races in route to Championship while performing well in the National Events. Off the track Sonny was found mentoring younger drivers, announcing the racing competition or just hanging out bringing a positive attitude to the Karting Community. Sonny just missed the Driver rankings being one race short to qualify, nonetheless, Cervelli was a Jr standout and earned the 2012 NorcalKarters.com Driver of the year award.

The NorcalKarters.com Sr driver of the year award for 2012 went to Jon Ban “The Man”. Jon supported his local club all year running multiple classes while also supporting the WKA West Series. Jon doesn’t have a favorite class, he likes to run where there is competition and enjoy himself at the track. A Kart Racing connoisseur of sorts ran the 80 shifter division and enjoyed the very competitive Clone category. Ban during practice days at his local club track, would give tips to newer karters to get them up to speed. This year for the return of the NorcalKarters.com Sr Driver of the year Jon Ban was a great standout as Sr Driver of the year.
